1.25Gbps SFP Optical Duplex Transceivers

 

The DSGio 1.25G Duplex SFP family consists of hot-pluggable optical transceivers designed for 1.25 Gbps duplex links using LC-terminated fiber. The series covers multimode 850 nm short-reach model up to 550 m and single-mode variants at 1310 nm and 1550 nm with reach options from 20 km to beyond 100 km using FP, DFB, PIN, or APD-based optical components depending on distance class. All modules operate from a single 3.3 V supply, comply with the SFP MSA and SFF-8472, and support digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM/DOM) for real-time measurement of temperature, supply voltage, and optical TX/RX power. Designed for general Ethernet (1000BASE-X) and Fibre Channel applications, the transceivers provide stable optical performance across standard operating temperatures (0 – 70 °C), industrial temperature range (-40 – 85 °C), and meet Class-1 laser safety and RoHS requirements for broad compatibility in switches, media converters, and network appliances.

Introduction

The “1.25G Duplex SFP” series is a family of compact, hot-pluggable optical transceiver modules that deliver up to 1.25 Gbps data rates over fiber. These SFP modules support duplex LC connectors, are compliant with the SFP MSA standard and SFF-8472 diagnostics, and operate from a single +3.3 V supply.

Depending on the model, they offer different reach and fiber types — from multimode fiber (MMF) up to ~550 m (850 nm version), to single-mode fiber (SMF) links reaching tens or even up to ~140 km (1550 nm version). These modules are designed to provide a cost-effective, standards-compliant solution for Gigabit Ethernet, fiber-channel, or other optical networking needs, offering flexibility depending on distance and fiber infrastructure.
