The VEX-D14F-10KSM DisplayPort Fiber Optic Extender consists of a transmitter (host) and receiver (device) that extend DisplayPort video, audio, IR, and RS-232 signals over SC single-mode fiber optic cabling. It supports DisplayPort resolutions up to 4K@30Hz (4:4:4) and transmits signals up to 10 km (32,800 ft) over a single SC duplex single-mode fiber cable in a point-to-point configuration. The system is suitable for long-distance and interference-sensitive applications.
Comprising a compact transmitter and receiver pair, the extender installs without special configuration or programming. Fiber optic transmission provides advantages over copper cabling, including thinner and lighter cables, immunity to RF and electromagnetic interference, and extended transmission distance, making it suitable for electrically noisy environments such as factories or medical facilities.
Integrated speaker and microphone audio functions, along with comprehensive EDID management, ensure optimal resolution and format compatibility between source and display devices. RS-232 pass-through allows remote control of serial devices such as projectors, control systems, POS systems, AV switches, and printers. An on-screen display (OSD) provides configuration of serial baud rates from 1200 to 115200 bps.
The extender supports Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, and macOS platforms and is suitable for use in data centers, offices, control rooms, airports, server rooms, and industrial environments. The interoperable design supports integration with HDMI, DisplayPort, and DVI systems for flexible installation.
2-Way Audio with Unique Audio Embedding/De-Embedding Function
Bi-directional audio extension enables independent two-way audio transmission between the transmitter and receiver. The integrated audio embedding and de-embedding function allows audio insertion from a 3.5 mm source into the DisplayPort stream or extraction of DisplayPort audio to a 3.5 mm stereo output for additional audio distribution.
Economic Solution for Aviation and Marine Applications Supporting 2048 x 2048 Resolution
The VEX-D14F-10KSM also supports a unique 2048 × 2048 resolution for air traffic control and marine radar applications, enabling standard displays to present this resolution when used with the extender.
